The Greater Louisiana Baptist Convention is launching it's first youth summer camp this week -- welcoming kids from across the state.

The camp's theme is "Changing One Life At A Time."
"Topics that we are facing on a daily basis. So it's something to help enrich them where there will walk away from? knowing what is right and what is wrong," said Rev. Daniel L. Smith Sr., Youth Camp Director.

Organizers say they're helping the elementary, middle, and high schools better their faith -- and prepare the kids for a college career.
"Getting their studies together where they can prepare to enter into the working community and knowing what they have to do to prepare themselves, so we just thank god we walk away with just a wealth of knowledge."
This is also a recruitment opportunity for GSU.
The kids met with university leaders for a meet and greet on Wednesday afternoon.
